Instant Online QR Code Generator

A quick way to create QR codes online. Generate multiple codes in seconds directly in your browser. No software installation required.

How it works

What happens between typing and seeing a code

"Instant" here is not a marketing word for a fast server. There is no server step at all: the work happens on the device you are holding.

1

The page loads the tools

When you open MultipleQR, your browser downloads the page together with an open-source QR drawing library and a ZIP library. This is the only moment the generator itself needs the network.

2

You type or paste

Each line of the box is one value. After a pause of about half a second, the tool takes every non-empty line and starts drawing; gray placeholders show while it works.

3

Codes are drawn locally

Each value is encoded into a QR pattern and rendered as a 300 × 300 pixel PNG held in the page’s memory, then shown in the results column in the same order as your lines.

4

Files saved from memory

A single download saves that image directly. "Download all (ZIP)" packs every image into qrs.zip inside your browser and hands it to your downloads folder.

Speed therefore depends on your device, not on our servers. A short list renders almost immediately on any phone; a list of several thousand lines takes longer and uses more memory, especially on older devices. If a long list feels sluggish, generate it in a few batches.

One line, one code

A line break always starts a new code. To put several lines of text in one code, you cannot do it from this box; keep each value on a single line.

Spaces count

Blank lines are skipped, but spaces before or after text on a line are kept and encoded. Remove them if the value must match exactly, such as an ID.

Shorter is easier to scan

The more characters a value has, the denser the pattern. Long links print fine at larger sizes, but a short URL scans more reliably on small labels.

Edits redraw everything

Changing any line regenerates the whole list after the short pause, so numbering and order always match what is in the box at that moment.

Privacy

What stays on your device, and what does not

Stays with you

  • The values you type or paste into the box.
  • CSV and TXT files you import: they are read by your browser, not uploaded.
  • The generated images, individually and as a ZIP.
  • Your work between visits: nothing is saved, so closing the tab clears the list.

Good to know

  • Like most websites, the page loads ads and analytics, according to your cookie choices.
  • Scanning a code contacts whatever you encoded (for example your website), never MultipleQR.
  • The "Share as URL" link contains your values; see below before you use it.
  • Full details are in our privacy policy.

Share as URL

Your list, packed into a link

The "Share as URL" button compresses every non-empty line of the box and adds it to the current page address as a ?data= parameter, then copies the whole link to your clipboard. Anyone who opens it gets the same list in the box and the same codes, generated again on their device.

Readable by anyone with the link

The data is compressed, not encrypted. Anyone who receives or finds the link can recover every value, with no password.

The link travels like any address

When the link is opened, the full address, including the list, is sent in the page request. It can end up in browser history and synced devices, hosting logs and analytics page reports.

Apps may preview or trim it

Chat apps often fetch links to build a preview, and very long lists produce very long links that some email clients or forms cut off. Open the link yourself once to confirm it is complete.

Great for

Public URLs, product or asset IDs, room numbers, shelf locations and other non-sensitive lists; handing a batch to a colleague or printer; saving a batch so you can regenerate identical files later.

Avoid for

Names, emails, phone numbers or other personal data; unpublished or internal links; single-use discount codes, access tokens, Wi-Fi passwords or anything you would not paste into a public chat. Instead, send the ZIP file or the spreadsheet through a channel you trust.

On your phone

Mobile usage tips

  • Paste, don’t type. Prepare the list in your notes app, one value per line, and paste it in one go.
  • Import from Files or Drive. The upload button opens your phone’s file picker, so a CSV or TXT saved in cloud storage works.
  • Scroll the results. On small screens the codes appear below the buttons; scroll down to see and download them.
  • Find your downloads. On iPhone, files go to the Files app (Downloads); on Android, to the Downloads folder. Tap qrs.zip to extract it.
  • Open share links in your browser. Links opened inside chat apps use a built-in browser that may block downloads or clipboard access.

Before you print

How to test your scans

  • Check the decoded text, not just the beep. Confirm the phone shows exactly the value you intended, with no stray spaces or missing characters.
  • Use two phones. Test with the built-in camera app on both an iPhone and an Android device if you can.
  • Sample the batch. Scan the first, a middle and the last code to catch order or copy-paste mistakes.
  • Test at final size and distance. Print one page, stick it where it will be used and scan in normal lighting.
  • Keep contrast and margin. Dark code on a light background. Each PNG already includes the standard white quiet zone, so do not crop it or place other elements over it.

For print dimensions, read our QR code size guide. If your codes will be in public places, the QR code security best practices explain how to help people trust what they scan.

Common questions

Instant online QR generator — FAQ

Why is there a short pause before the codes appear?

The generator waits until you stop typing for about half a second, then redraws every code in one pass. This avoids rebuilding hundreds of images on every single keystroke. While it works, gray placeholder cards show in the results column.

Is the list I type sent to MultipleQR?

Not for generating or downloading. The codes are drawn by JavaScript in your browser and the files are saved straight from memory. The one feature that puts your values outside your device is "Share as URL", because it writes them into a link that you then send to someone.

Is the share link encrypted or password protected?

No. The list is compressed to make the link shorter, but compression is not encryption: anyone who has the link can open it and see every value. Treat it like the list itself and share it only with people who may see its contents.

Can I use a share link to update codes I already printed?

No. A share link only refills the text box with the same list so that the codes can be generated again. The printed codes contain their values directly and never change. Editing the list after opening a link creates new codes; it does not affect anything already downloaded.

Does it keep working if my connection drops?

Generally yes. Everything needed to draw the codes and build the ZIP is downloaded with the page, so once it has fully loaded you can keep generating without a connection. Reloading the page or opening a share link does need internet.

How do I test a code when I am generating on my phone?

A phone cannot scan its own screen, so use a second device: open the results on your phone and scan them with a tablet or another phone, or display them on a computer screen and scan with your phone. Before printing, always test a real print too.

Do the downloaded codes still work after I close the page?

Yes. Once a PNG or the ZIP is saved on your device, it is an ordinary image file that holds its value inside the pattern. It does not depend on this page, your browser session or MultipleQR in any way. Closing the tab only clears the list in the text box, so save the images, or a share link, first.

Why does the share button not copy anything?

The button writes the link to your clipboard, and some browsers block clipboard access in private windows, embedded browsers inside other apps, or when permissions are restricted. Try opening the page directly in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. The button does nothing if the list is empty.
